COLLECTION OF LOW-IMPACT LOAFERS

Ecoalf and Michelin have collaborated to bring Michelin Group their first sole made from reused rubber to the footwear industry. Following the example of Michelin tires, the new shoe soles combine longevity with high performance. The rubber sole is merged withl Ecoalf’s “Ocean Yarn” to create unique, unisex loafers that lend themselves perfectly to day-to-day wear thanks to the grip, versatility and that have come to define Ecoalf’s collections.

EACH PAIR IS MADE WITH 5 PLASTIC BOTTLES FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN (COLLECTED WITH OUR UPCYCLING THE OCEANS PROJECT)

FABRIC KNIT WITH ECOALF’S OCEAN YARN

This yarn is made from plastic bottles collected from the bottom of the ocean through our Upcycling the Oceans project which has recovered more than 600 tonnes of marine waste. The reused rubber is made with the leftovers from the sole-making process which produces no waste as the surplus is then reused in the production of the following soles. Both innovative materials maximize the use of raw materials, minimize waste, and improve efficiency in the production process by limiting the number of processes, carbon emissions, and water consumption. Together we reduced CO2 eq emissions by 14.773 tonnes and saved 384.188 liters of water.
