Plastics play an important role in almost every aspect of our lives. This is a huge problem, we now use about 20 times more plastic than we did 50 years ago. However, we can optimize the lifespan of plastics by reusing and recycling items as many times as possible.

PLASTIC MARINE DEBRIS AFFECTS AT LEAST MORE THAN 267 SPECIES WORLDWIDE
Plastic bottles are collected and pass through a series of steps of cleaning and crushing to obtain plastic flakes which, through a mechanical process are converted into rough polyester spun fiber that is manipulated to obtain the final quality. This recycled yarn is then used to develop fabrics, straps, labels, laces, etc...

Ghost nets are among the greatest killers in our oceans. The nets tend to congregate, driven by wind and currents. Fishing nets are made of synthetic materials, which decay slowly and can drift for years. Many of them end up caught on a reef, nets do not only catch fish, turtles, crustaceans, birds or marine mammals, they also destroy hard and soft corals, wiping out complete ecosystems while swaying in the current. Removing them is time-consuming and costly.

It is the World’s best Nylon quality. Fishermen change their nets every 2-3 years. They are collected in several harbors and selected on the quality that we need. We use the fishing-nets to make new fabrics.

2-3 BILLION SCRAP TYRES ARE STOCKPILED ON UNREGULATED PILES THROUGHOUT THE US
The most noticeable problem associated with large tyre piles is the fire hazard they present. Once a tyre pile catches fire, it is almost impossible to extinguish it. In some instances, tyre piles have been burning for several months with the black fumes. There are diseases such as dengue fever and encephalitis that have also been reported around scrap tyre piles, particularly in areas with warmer climates which are an ideal breeding ground for disease-carrying mosquitoes.
TYRES CONTAINS METALS AND TEXTILES WHICH COMPLICATE THE RECYCLING PROCESS
The tyre is very difficult to recycle as it contains metals, antioxidants and fabric pieces. It took two years to be able to separate those elements and create a clean powder. The final objective was to compress the clean powder without using any glue. We recycle rubber for our flip-flop line, outsoles of sneakers…

POST CONSUMER COFFEE
THE COMPOUD IS COLLECTED EVERY DAY FROM DIFFERENT DINERS AND TAKEN TO THERECYCLING PLANT
The average daily consumption of coffee is 3.1 cups per day. Did you know that coffee is not only for drinking? You can also wear it! The resultant fabric is soft, light, flexible and breathable and can also be use to produce an outer shell that is water resistant. The fabric thanks to the coffee grounds becomes UV-resistant, wicks water away, keeps you cool and it has odor control properties.
THE COFFEE GROUND IS GRINDED TO A SIZE OF NANO-POWDER
Used coffee ground is picked up from a well-known chain of diners. The compound is still humid so the first step, when taken to the recycling plant, is to dry the coffee grounds and extract any oil it contains. Then the coffee ground is grinded to a size of nano-powder. This powder is the prepared in master batches to be mixed with recycled polyester polymers in order to create yarn.
