Salir a correr en invierno sin pasar frío

Going for a run in winter without getting cold

Going for a run in winter is a little more difficult at first. When it's cold, your body takes a while to get started and leaving the house is not so appealing. But once you start to move and get through the first few minutes, everything changes. Your body warms, you stop noticing the cold as much and that’s when you realise it was worth going out. With a few simple changes, running in winter can easily form part of your daily routine.

Sustainable sportswear for running in winter

In winter, it is what you wear that makes the difference when you go for a run. Not so you can run faster or demand more of yourself but so you feel good from the start and don’t have to worry about the cold.

Dressing properly doesn’t mean adding lots of layers but choosing clothing that works when you move and keeps you warm without burdening you. And if the clothing is designed to last and made of sustainable materials, even better.

Choose a good first layer

The first layer is the one in direct contact with your skin and the once that is most noticeable when you start running. It helps to keep you warm and doesn’t get wet when your body gets hot.

Long-sleeved sustainable sports t-shirts work really well in winter because they protect you and allow you to move comfortably, without adding volume. On your bottom half, sustainable leggings or running trousers perform the same function, helping to keep you warm and move freely whilst you run.

The intermediate layer for cold days

When it is cold, an intermediate layer is great to stop you from losing too much heat when you are running. It might be a light sustainable sweatshirt that protects you without burdening you.

These garments are not just for training. They can also be worn for other outdoor activities or at home in the winter.

Jackets for running in winter

On windy days or when the weather is damp, a sustainable sports jacket helps to protect you without adding weight when you run. What is important is that it allows you to move freely without getting too hot.

At Ecoalf we make with this type of sportswear with recycled materials, making it resistant and practical, for running and other outdoor activities.
