Minimize washing machine use: product care

We recomment air drying your clothes outdoors. Following our product care instructions will help make sure that your gear has a long, interesting life

  • WASHING

When washing – use lower temperatures and shorter cycles.

  • WASH LESS

Save water and energy consumption by washing your clothes only when strictly necessary. If you want to remove a stain, wash the affected area with soap and a sponge.

  • MINIMIZE THE USE OF THE DRYER

After washing your clothes hang it on the outside to avoid using the dryer, if the weather conditions allow it, the sun and the wind are the best allies to dry your clothes quickly and efficiently.

  • MINIMIZE IRONING

After washing your clothes, hang them up outside and avoid using the dryer.

  • FEATHER

We recommend you wash your feather clothes with cold water and basic soap powder. Once the washing cycle has been completed, let the clothes dry on a horizontal surface, away from sources of heat and turn them around every so often, taking advantage of the movement of the pen inside. If you are going to use a tumble dryer, we recommend that you use a program with the lowest possible temperature and place 2 or 3 clean tennis balls inside to prevent the boom from clumping. DO NOT iron your garment and never use softener or similar products.

How to clean and take care of your ECOALF shoes

What you will need to clean the shoes: Mild detergent or safe laundry soap. A soft brush or a toothbrush. A sponge. Paper towels. A bucket of warm water

  • 01.

You must wash the different parts separately. Start by removing the laces and insoles.

  • 02.

Fill up a bucket with warm water and add one or two tablespoons of mild detergent.

  • 03.

With a dry paper towel, remove the dirt before wetting the shoes.

  • 04.

Use a soft brush or a toothbrush soaked in warm water with soap to clean the outer soles (bottom of the shoes) by hand. Rinse with a sponge or with wet wipes.

  • 05.

Then wash the top part of the shoes. The upper part is the part that wraps the foot and the way of washing it will depend on the material from which it is made. Fabric, mesh or canvas: Use a wet sponge with soap and gently scrub. These materials can be washed by hand but do not immerse the shoes in water.

  • 06.

Clean the interior insoles with soap water. Rub the surface well with a toothbrush or a soft brush and remove any dirt or soap with a damp sponge. Do not put the insoles in the water because the foam can change their shape.

  • 07.

You can wash the laces with soap and a brush in the tap.

  • 08.

When you have washed all the parts of the shoes, let them air dry with paper towels inside. The wipes will help absorb moisture and maintain the shape of the shoes while they dry. (Do not let them dry near a radiator or in direct sunlight because they could be damaged).

  • 09.

When the shoes are dry, you can sprinkle baking soda inside to absorb odors and traces of moisture.

What not to do::

  • Do not wash the shoes in the washing machine at + 30 degrees Celsius. The fabric and glue can get damaged if you put them in hot water.

  • Do not use bleach or household cleaning products to wash the shoes. Always use gentle means to wash our clothes.

  • Do not dry the shoes in the dryer, near a radiator or indirect sunlight. The heat can cause the shoes to lose their shape or break. It is best to let them dry outdoors.
