Ecoalf - La Rambla

OUR FIRST STORE MADE OF SALT

We have spent a year cultivating over 1,000 kg of salt in the salt pans of Cádiz to create 500 m² of salt fabric. This fabric lines our new store on Rambla Catalunya, forming walls and arches up to five metres high.

WHY SALT?

Salt is a natural, living element. Found in the oceans and one of the planet’s most abundant natural resources, it embodies the brand’s connection to the sea and its commitment to protecting the planet’s natural resources. For years, Ecoalf has worked with more than 4,700 fishermen across 80 Mediterranean ports through the Ecoalf Foundation’s Upcycling the Oceans project to remove waste from the seabed and, above all, prevent it from returning to the sea.

This research combines traditional salt production processes with new technologies, bringing together three natural elements: seawater, sun and wind. The resulting fiber meshes are fully recyclable, and the salt itself can be returned to the sea, where it originally came from."}]}]}

Suspended from the ceiling, wooden seagulls crafted from palm leaves form an art installation by Spanish artist Daniel Salorio. Known for transforming leaves, branches and seeds into sculptures, his work connects the store to the city of Barcelona and its surroundings. These pieces are made from the remnants of palm leaves that remain around the trunk after pruning, transformed into birds soaring above the store.
