The Ecoalf Foundation is a Spanish non-profit organization born in 2015 and registered in the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment's Registry of Foundations. The Foundation is a space for innovation in the circular economy, with a clear vocation for ocean preservation and a partnership-based methodology. Our team is formed by a technical pool of experts, supported by a highly experienced and motivated board of trustees led by Javier Goyeneche. On top of this, different international partners join forces to make projects a reality.

THE PROBLEM

Marine debris is one of the main threats to the health of our seas and oceans. It is a global problem that, like climate change, knows no geographical or political boundaries and has ecological and socioeconomic impacts.

Considering the origin, quantity, and typology of the waste dumped into the sea, the main cause lies in the current linear economic model, which generates a continuous accumulation of waste.

There is no doubt that it is time to act, because if we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem. At the Ecoalf Foundation, we believe that implementing circular economic models is the best preventive action to fight against marine litter.
